Why you need to be super focused on User Experience Design
“People ignore design that ignores people.” — Frank Chimero
When we build products at Zartek, the first step of development is creating the product wireframes and data flow. This crucial process of user experience design is important and many times overlooked by clients. Here is why we need to spend more time on building a great user experience design:
What is UX (User Experience) Design?
UX design is the process of designing products that are easy to use and great to interact with. UX designers work to enhance the experience that customers have while interacting with the product, and making sure they find value in the quickest time. It focuses on where the buttons need to be placed, the size of the buttons and product, and tries to make the product more intuitive for the users.

How do we create UX Design?
“Findability precedes usability. In the alphabet and on the Web. You can’t use what you can’t find.” — Peter Morville
- Understand the target user
To create a great user experience, it is important to do thorough research on the target customer of the application. Some of the important factors to research are customer average age, geography, tech-savviness, and the frequency of usage.
2. Draw Data Flow Chart
Most applications provide multiple features and values to the customer but it is important to emphasise the core feature of the app. The product should be designed so that the users can access the core feature of the application in the fastest time possible.
3. Draw Wireframes
Once the data flow is confirmed, the next step is it map out and assign which buttons/options are required on each page and where they need to be placed. Drawing the wireframes of each page in the application and linking the pages gives clarity on the overall layout and product features.
The final wireframes can be A/B tested with a few target users and internal testers to iterate and create the final wireframes.
Importance of UX Design
- Creating the wireframes for each page and A/B testing to create the final one will allow the product owner to brainstorm the product for its functionality and usability.
- The wireframe prototype can be used to get immediate product feedback from potential customers and investors.
- Focusing on UX will allow entrepreneurs to cut costs on costly UI design work at an initial stage.
- Having a clear understanding of the UX will also bring clarity to the development team in the overall product features.
Tools for UX Design
There are many tools in the market for wireframing and prototyping. Here are some of our favourites:
- Balsamiq
- Figma
- Adobe XD
- Draw.io
- Invision
